Darwin Millard has a degree in Mechanical Engineering and specializes in mechanical and solvent based extraction methodologies for isolating highly volatile terpenophenolic secondary metabolites from botanicals. He has spent the last 10 years focusing on the extraction, and manufacture of nutraceutical products comprising of phytocannabinoids and other bioactive constituents from Cannabis. His efforts have been directed towards developing commercially viable extraction and refinement methods for utilizing various different techniques for the isolation of mono-specific cannabinoids from Cannabis on the industrial scale, as well as the development and implementation of standardized operating procedures for the manufacture of cannabis products. Darwin is a strong proponent of cannabinoid-based treatment therapies as a replacement for pharmaceutical drugs, and was an integral part of the team that developed and introduced the Dixie Botanicals brand of hemp based cannabidiol (CBD) products, the first hemp-based phytocannabinoid dietary supplements to be sold openly on the world market. Darwin is currently a partner at Millard Masonek Solutions, where he works with clients on the bench scale and the commercial scale to assist them in developing cannabis extraction and refinement techniques that increase process efficiencies, decrease cost of goods and allow the separation and purification of individual cannabinoids. Darwin is the Vice-subcommittee Chair of ASTM International’s D37.04 on Processing and Handling of Cannabis and the Industrial Hemp Liaison for ASTM International’s technical committee D37 on Cannabis, as well as the former chair of the Hemp Industries Association’s (HIA) Cannabinoid Committee, an Associate Partner with the Indian Industrial Hemp Association (IIHA) and is active in assisting to create and define legislation for the burgeoning cannabis industry both domestically and internationally.
Jeff Masonek is a partner and co-founder of Millard Masonek Solutions. Jeff is an attorney and oversees the legal and regulatory affairs of the company. He also has an extensive international sales and marketing background and heads the business development side of Millard Masonek Solutions. He uses his extensive experience to guide Millard Masonek Solutions’s clients interested in furthering their business development through local, regional, national or global brand expansion. Jeff works with our clients to develop strong branding strategies and comprehensive marketing plans. Jeff was Executive Vice President and General Counsel for M-C International (later M-C Mclane) which for over 50 years was one of the leading international trading companies in the United States. In that capacity, Jeff managed sales and marketing programs for numerous U.S manufacturing companies in over 20 countries. His focus was on developing branded products. He also served as General Counsel for the U.S. branch of one of the leading cannabis companies in Europe. The cannabis business is global and Jeff’s extensive international business background can be invaluable to our clients. As Chief Executive Officer of Merchants Duty Free, which sold and distributed highly regulated products globally, Jeff gained invaluable experience which he applies to the cannabis industry. Jeff has over 35-years of experience managing numerous high-value oversees branch offices involved in the distribution of imported consumer goods and also served on the Advisory Committee of Marketing Management Inc., one of the largest private label brokers in the United States, with decades of success in introducing new products to major big box retailers. As the cannabis industry approaches federal legalization this experience and exposure will provide our clients with a key advantage in developing a national sales program.
Ian Stewart, brings professional expertise and effective communication skills to the Millard Masonek Solutions team. He has extensive experience operating within the cannabis space in the realms of consulting, communications, development and investment. He recently led a consortium of motivated professionals toward licensure in a highly regulated state. Ian is familiar with the particular constraints of industry markets and is adept at working toward common goals within the limitations of regulated systems. Ian facilitates relationships between cannabis start-ups and successful industry experts. He maintains a vision for creative collaboration between aspiring and established professionals and serves as a client liaison for Millard Masonek Solutions. His energy and past experience informs his ability to take pride in his project management and forward-thinking communication with team members ensuring client deliverables and needs are being meet.
Lissete Baldit, has over 12 years of experience working in the baking/confectionery industry. She specializes in cannabis infused baked goods and other food items. Her clients have included Fortune 100 companies. Lissete is a native Spanish speaker from Mexico, and has provided translation services for law firms, media outlets and major business entities. She specializes in the translation of highly technical, legal and medical documents including those related to the cannabis industry. She has also taught business/technical Spanish to business leaders and their clients.
Andreas received a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Chapman University in Orange, CA. After researching cannabinoid binding sites using computational modeling techniques, he became heavily immersed in cannabis / hemp process planning, supervision and buildout. His experience includes running large-scale extraction and formulation operations, production lab management and supervision, and regulatory safety protocols.
